Creating a Fish Tank VR Experience Using a Web Camera
Most people will think of head-mounted goggles when Virtual Reality (VR) is mentioned. But there are some other VR techniques that don’t require any device wearing on the viewer’s head. Fish Tank VR is one of them. In this project, I created a fish tank VR demo by tracking the viewer’s head position and recalculate the projection matrix. As the viewer moves his/her head, the scene rendered on the screen will also change. Using this technique, we can turn a normal monitor into a VR display.
